Star Wars Episode 1 Walk-through

Level One - Trade Federation Battleship

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Objective: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have been ambushed while awaiting the trade negotiations. After poison gas fills the room, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan must escape and battle dozens of battledroids to find a transport that can take them to the planet below. Once both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have safely reached the transport, the next level will begin.

After the brief introductory sequence, you will find yourself in control of Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're in a conference room with Qui-Gon and a droid, discussing plans on future negotiations. Before you know it, the room begins filling up with poisonous gas! Quickly get out your lightsaber and rush toward the door at the far end of the room. Once the door opens you'll find an armada of battledroids waiting on the other side. Block laser bolts by swinging your light saber and use your Force push power to quickly nail several battledroids.

Once the first wave of battledroids has been taken care of, make your way down the corridor and enter the cubicle door at your right. Inside, you will find a switch against the far wall. Move in front of it and activate the switch. Step back outside and move to the left of the main doorway. Activate the switch on the wall to open a small hatch that releases a health kit. Now, step through the main door.

You're now in a corridor that heads left and right. Head down the path on the right, and you'll fight a couple of battledroids. Enter the room on the right side of the corridor and toggle the switch on the wall to open another room on the opposite side of the hallway. Here, you will find another switch that must be toggled to open the blast doors. Within this room is another small cubby holding a health kit. Proceed through the blast doors.

Quickly make your way down to the end of the corridor and make a right. Destroyer droids will be deployed at the end of the hallway, so don't waste any time standing around here, or you'll be destroyed. The destroyer droids are well shielded and will be no match for your powers; avoid them and continue down the hallway. As you run down the corridor, you will see a blast door close, blocking your path. Never fear! There's a small opening at the left side of the hallway that you can slip into. Travel down this hallway, and you'll be sucked into a chute that takes you to a new area.

Follow the winding path through the ventilation system. Along the way, you will see the transport ship you arrived on suddenly destroyed. Keep walking along the catwalk. Eventually, you'll enter a maze-like area that is patrolled by maintenance droids. While they don't pose a significant threat, they can do a little damage, so take them out with your lightsaber. Make your way to the northeast corner of this area, and you'll see another switch on the wall. Toggle the switch, do a U-turn, and enter the blast door that has opened behind you. Within this small room, you will find another switch. Toggle it and exit the room.

Head straight and turn right when you reach the far wall. Don't move too far forward, or you'll do a belly flop into some spinning blades. Take the small corridor at your left and follow it around until it reaches a junction. Turn right and drop through the grate on the floor. Battle some more droids, then head down the corridor and enter the room on the right. Drop down to the next level and quickly fire a Force push toward the right where a pack of droids is standing. Press the switch on the wall to open the blast doors. Enter the small chamber at the left and destroy the machine inside with your lightsaber. Exit the room and return the way you came, riding the small lift back up to the corridor level. Head all the way down the corridor, fighting droids as you go. You'll enter a large chamber with a lift at the left. Stand on the lift and press the switch on the wall to rise up to the next level. Another switch will be found here that opens the blast doors. Open these doors and fight the three droids on the other side. One of them will drop a full health kit. It's a good time to save your game!

TIP: Inside the hanger, you'll find a collection of crates. There is a health power-up located atop one of the crates (it requires a double jump). If you have the time, you can also push aside the front crate to reveal a secret room. Inside, you'll find a few thermal detonators. There's another crate in the room though; pull it back to reveal another entrance. In here, you'll find a proton missile launcher.

Head back the way you came and take the dark corridor that heads left. You'll soon find yourself traveling along a catwalk high above the chamber below. Keep following this catwalk as it winds its way around. You'll eventually come to a dead end with a switch on the wall. Trigger the switch and head back the way you came, taking the first left you come to. Here, you'll find another dead end with a switch. Trigger the switch and head left, triggering the next switch you come to. Now head back down the catwalk and make a right until you reach a gray platform with a switch. Stand on the platform and trigger the switch. After you descend, take the first right and follow the catwalk awhile until you come to the second platform on the left. Walk onto the platform, and the game will automatically begin the next level.

Level Two - The Swamps of Naboo

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Objective: Once off the transports and safely on the planet surface, Obi-Wan must locate his Jedi master, Qui-Gon Jinn, somewhere in the thick swamps of Naboo. Along the way, Obi-Wan will meet a strange creature, a Gungan named Jar Jar Binks. Follow Jar Jar through the murky swamps to find your master and continue on to the next level.

You begin this new episode on a small chunk of land in the middle of a swamp. Head straight forward past the large tree on your right until you finally make you way to land. Head northeast, and you'll see a pack of five battledroids. Take out the droids and pick up the blaster sitting on top of the broken crate. Head into the water beyond the droids and start heading left. Follow the path as it wraps around, climb the small hill, and you'll discover Jar Jar Binks at the top.

After Jar Jar departs, turn right and slide down the slope, traveling along the swamp water on the right side. Jump down into the area that has lots of logs acting as bridges until you find a wooden block on the ground. Move up alongside the block and push it toward the center spire, where Jar Jar is waiting at the top. Once the block is in position, jump onto it and then onto the spire. Walk along the planks until you reach what looks like a dead-end and jump onto the ledge at your right.

Keep heading straight, fight some more droids, and walk over the fallen tree. Follow the ledge around and drop down where you can see a small Gungan energy ball sitting atop a stone column. Follow Jar Jar as he runs, winding your way through the swamp until you finally come to a federation ship sitting in the middle of a clearing. Wipe out all the droids and keep moving in the only direction available. Eventually, you'll come to a small pool of water with several stone ledges. Carefully jump from each ledge to the next until you reach the other side. Now, you should see a large, flat stone hanging over the edge of the rock you're on. Carefully jump from the edge of this rock to the other side. You have one more tricky jump ahead of you; then you'll find Jar Jar standing around. Talk to Jar Jar about finding Qui-Gon and start following him once he moves. At one point, you'll see a vine over your head that leads to the other side of a cliff.

Simply jump into the vine, and you'll grab onto it; then shimmy across until you're safely on the other side. When you see a wooden block similar to the one you moved earlier, push it into deep chasm below you. Drop down into the chasm and move the stone block against the far wall and jump up to the top. Shimmy across the next vine you come to and drop down once you reach the end. Run up the fallen log and jump to another log, dropping down and finding Jar-Jar again. Follow Jar Jar into the clearing and take out the battledroids. Be careful not to accidentally hit the crates at the far end of the clearing, or you'll release some destroyer droids!

TIP: Instead of taking on the battledroids one by one, find the mounted turret located across from the crates. Man the turret by using the activate key, then fire and eliminate all the droids quickly. If you happen to release the destroyer droids, concentrate the turret's fire on them. Open the crate next to the turret to acquire a blaster.

Collect the health at the left side of the clearing and move along the passageway at the right of the two crates. You'll now find Qui-Gon speaking with Jar Jar. Let the conversation finish, and the next level will begin.

Level Three - Otoh Gunga

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Objective: Jar Jar Binks takes the two Jedi knights to the underwater city of Otoh Gunga, where they will meet Boss Nass, the leader of the Gungans. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan soon learn that Jar Jar Binks isn't welcome in his homeland. After securing a transport back to the surface and the Naboo people, Qui-Gon insists they take Jar Jar with them, so he can help navigate through the planet's core. To take Jar Jar, though, Obi-Wan must rescue him from the maze of tubes and cells and must do so without harming the peaceful city's inhabitants.

You're now in the underwater city of Otoh Gunga. From where you start, head straight through the passageway and keep going straight until you find Qui-Gon. After a brief conversation, you'll be led into the chamber with Boss Nass. After the conversation ends, you will have a new objective: locate and save Jar Jar.

Head back into the last chamber and turn right, heading all the way down until you can't go any further. Trigger the switch on the wall, and the small room will detach and connect with a new region of Otoh Gunga.

Keep heading the only way you can until you reach a chamber with a Gungan standing next to a closed door. Speak with him and ask for help. Grab the pass he drops and head through the other passageway in this chamber. You'll emerge in a large chamber. Stand next to the edge and several columns will rise from the ground. Jump onto these columns until you've reached the other side and enter the small chamber. Trigger the switch on the wall, and you'll be transported to a new a area.Keep moving in the only direction you can, and you'll emerge into a large chamber with several columns standing in a shallow pool of water. These jumps are tricky, but you'll make it after some practice. You'll have to make the jumps quickly, however, because the columns start to sink once you're on top of them. Don't worry, they'll come back up soon enough.

Eventually, you'll make your way to the other side. Head through the passageway and make your way to the end, where there's another chamber with a switch. Trigger the switch, and you'll be transported to a new area. In this new area, push the switch on your right and quickly make your way up the ramp to your left before the door above shuts. When you reach a Gungan blocking a door, use the Force on him, and he'll eventually open it.

Continue downward and take the passageway on your left. Move the block in the middle of the room against the console at the northwest side of the map. Climb up onto the block and trigger the switch. This will cause a column to descend at another console in the room. Move the block to the next one, climb up, and trigger the switch. Do this until you have triggered the four switches within the room. Drop down onto the platform in the middle of the room to trigger a door lock in the previous chamber. Return to the previous chamber and head through the newly opened door.

Head down the passageway and drop down to the bottom level of the chamber. Move the block under the switch in this room and trigger it; quickly jumping on top of the column and to the other side before the door closes. Speak to the Gungan at the control booth and get him to manipulate the airlift controls for you. Head through the other passageway in this room and trigger the switch on the wall to transport to a new region.

Take the left passageway to a new control room area. Speak with the Gungan standing in front of the controls and use the colored dialogue selection to sway the Gungan to open Jar Jar's cell. Follow Jar Jar out of the detention area and keep following him until you meet up with Qui-Gon. The next level will soon start!

Level Four - Gardens of Theed

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Objective: After a perilous transport ride through the planet's core, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Jar Jar Binks arrive at the city of Theed. To reach Queen Amidala and warn her about the failed trade negotiations, our three heroes must make their way through the city and through an invasion that has already begun.

After the bridge is destroyed and Jar Jar and Qui-Gon tumble into the water, drop into the water yourself (you'll be playing as Obi-Wan Kenobi again) and quickly swim right, hugging the right wall until you make it to the steps. Go up the steps and drop down to the right of the waterfall and quickly swim northeast until you reach a small bridge.

Climb up the bridge and the hop along the two stone blocks until you make it to the other side. You can see a lever across the way. Stand near the edge and shoot the lever with your blaster (or use the Force push).

Quickly run across and kill the droid waiting for you on the other side. Follow the path around, kill several more droids, and again shoot the lever you see on the other side of the water.

Drop down onto the collapsed bridge and jump up to the other side. Grab the small health pack nearby if you are low on hit points. Follow the path around, and you will see some Naboo guards in a firefight against some droids. Help them out until the fight ends and slip into the small courtyard on your left (or avoid the firefight altogether - the Naboo guards will eventually defeat the droids). Speak with the Naboo soldier there and ask how to find the queen. Ultimately, you must take the garden route, but fortunately, the Naboo guard gives you a light repeating blaster to help you take on the invading droids. Make your way through the maze-like garden, battling legions of droids as you go. Don't forget to use your Force powers to slice through several droids at once when you're outnumbered. Fortunately, there are several health packs along the way. Avoid the Trade Federation Battle Tank if you can; it can't be destroyed, but you can run around it without getting hit.

Eventually, you'll come across a Naboo guard trying to unlock a door. Offer to help him and then follow him as he runs to a new area. Get ready to fight more droids along the way. Destroy the droids in the room with the red switch on the wall and toggle the switch. A door will open behind you; quickly go through it before it closes.

Once you go through the door, take the outdoor passage left. Head down the alley until you see a small passage on the left side. The second you see a federation droid, shoot it with a blaster and then collect the full health power up. Head back to the alley and go left. Go up the stairs on your left and press the button at the top. Jump off the ledge here and into the water below. Head right until you're in a courtyard and press the red button on a wall.

Head back the way you came and keep going until you climb a flight of stairs and trigger a new button on the wall. Backtrack down the stairs and drop down to where the waterfall was and press the red button at the bottom. This extends a platform behind you that you now want to cross. Cross the bridge and shoot the lever at your right to extend another bridge. Head over the bridge and be warned about the federation mech in the courtyard.

On either side of the staircase on your right you can see a stone block, each of which gives you the elevation needed to shoot the levers on either side. The best way to deal with the battle tank in the courtyard is to wait until it's done firing and quickly jump onto the block and trigger a lever, doing the same process for the second lever. If you need health, you can head down the alley to the left of the main door or jump into the window at the right side of the door. When the two levers are triggered, the main door will open, leading to the next level.

Level Five - Escape from Theed

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Objective: Once Obi-Wan has located the queen, he must escort her safely to her transport ship. Often, the queen will hide in safe spots while Obi-Wan destroys droids and other enemies nearby. The queen must reach the transport safely to continue to the next level.

After the brief introductory conversation, you must escort Queen Amidala to a ship. She knows the city, so follow her route until she stops and says there is a secret passageway behind a statue. Climb the stairs that lead to a small square overlook and jump down behind the small stone statue. Push the statue out of the way so the queen can now follow you. Climb the stairs and shoot the droid on the other side of the ledge. You cannot open the door here, so you must jump to the ledge where you just shot the droid.

TIP: There's a balcony below where you shot the droid. If you can fall down safely, you'll locate a missile launcher for your trouble. To get back up, perform a double jump.

Enter the room on your right and get the health and blaster. Trigger the red button on the wall and head through the door on the opposite side of the room. Head down the stairs, turn left, and make the first right. Keep going along the passageways and rooms until you hear someone say he's been falsely imprisoned. Head down the stairs near the voice and open the cell door on the right to release a suspicious character. He will give you a thermal detonator to use against the tank outside. When you can see the tank from the stairs, lob the grenade at it and move as far away as possible before it explodes, as the blast radius is huge. Once the tank moves back, make your way through the alleys as you make your way to the rear of the tank. On the left side of the tank, you will see a small cubby with a switch. Get a running jump and hop over to the switch, triggering it when you get there. Now you should head back to the queen, if she isn't already following you, and make sure she tags along. Head through the gate that opened when you flipped the last trigger, battle some droids, and head up the stairs, following along the path; watch out for thermal detonators dropping from the roof. You eventually come to a room with a missile launcher and a switch on the wall that reveals a full health power-up. Ready your missile launcher and run down the stairs. Get ready to fight two destroyer droids!

The best way to win is to take the first one out with your lightsaber by charging it when it stops, right before it powers up its shields. Then, use the missile launcher to take the second destroyer out.

By now, the queen will take off and wait at a gate at the far left of town. You want to climb the stairs at the left passage, before the closed gate, and step out onto the ledge. Turn right and move forward a bit until you see the rope crossing in front of you. Jump to the rope and shimmy across.

Enter the chamber to your right and climb the stairs on your right, triggering the red switch found on the wall. This opens the gate for the queen, and she will travel through it. Go down the stairs to the lower level of this room and trigger the green switch. This opens a shortcut to the gate. Continue pressing forward and destroying droids until you reach a small bridge. Jump onto the boat situated on the left side of the bridge and then climb the stairs near the tip of the boat. When you reach the top, look across the courtyard and shoot the lever with your blaster. This will flatten the bridge, so the queen can walk across. Go back and get the queen, so she continues following you, and be careful not to lead her into the three mines on the ground. When the queen reaches her next stopping point, turn around and kill the battledroids coming at you from the rear. When they are dispatched, hug the left side of the wall and mow down the droids in the alleyway, being careful not to blow up the turret.

When the way is clear, charge toward the turret and start firing at the destroyer droid that is coming from behind. When the destroyer droid is gone, scout ahead and clear the way. Enter the door on the right side of the alleyway, and the man inside will open a door next to this room that has a health kit. Continue pressing forward and killing all the battledroids, using your Force power to disable large batches at once. When the way is clear, continue pressing forward and head left toward the huge hangar doors. Escort the queen inside and head all the way to the end of the hangar to meet up with Qui-Gon. The next level will now begin.

Level Six - Mos Espa

Character: Qui-Gon Jinn

Objective: The queen's ship is in need of repair. Qui-Gon must venture to the town of Mos Espa to search for a replacement hyperdrive. Along the way, he'll meet the mysterious boy, Anakin Skywalker, who is in need of several parts to complete his pod racer. Helping the boy could be the key to acquiring the replacement hyperdrive.

You begin this level in the desert, right outside the city of Mos Espa. Instead of playing as Obi-Wan, you're now controlling Qui-Gon and escorting Padmé into the city on a quest to locate some parts for your ship. Head forward from where you start the level, lightsaber drawn, and get ready to kick the butt of a throng of Tusken raiders. Once they've been taken care of, follow the canyon as it winds around, and you'll eventually set foot in the city of Mos Espa.

Talk to the first woman you see on the left. She'll be standing in front of a food stand. Ask her about the T-14 hyperdrive generator, and she will mention a creature name Watto that can most likely help you out. Continue forward and make the first left you come across. Head down the alley and follow the wall on the left as it wraps around to a flight of stairs. Climb all the way up the stairs and enter the building at the top. Go through the building and step out on the ledge that overlooks Mos Espa. Carefully walk around the ledge until you see a suspended rope above you. Jump at the rope to grab onto it and shimmy to the right into the next building.

Head up the stairs and pick up the blaster, carefully taking out the turret that rises from the floor. Exit this building on the right side and carefully walk along the ledge, across the bridge, and to the next suspended rope. Shimmy across the rope to the other side. If someone shoots you off, kill the suspect and retrace your steps and attempt to shimmy across again. Drop into the room and collect the health pack in the corner. Move across the room and onto the stairs that overlook two cells, one that contains a huge lumbering beast and another that contains a subdued alien awaiting your rescue.

Eventually the huge beast will be released. Patience is the key here. You should step on top of the cell that is beside the stairs and get your blaster out. Start shooting the beast until you either kill it or run out of ammo for your blaster. If you run out of ammo before the beast is dead, get your lightsaber ready and start smacking it around from the top of the crate. Either way, the beast will eventually die. Drop down and release the other alien. Go around to the alley behind the stairs and hit the generator with your lightsaber. This will open the door in front of you.

Exit the alley and go left, where you'll find Tomo's mother sitting on the left side of the courtyard. As a token of her appreciation for saving her son, she will give you a repulse booster. Continue on and take the first left. Continue following the city street the only way it goes until you finally hear someone shout your name. It's Padmé. Talk to her and learn that Jar Jar has disappeared.

Keep heading down the road. You'll see some strange buildings on either side of the road. These are the slave quarter of Mos Espa. Keep going down the road, following it as it wraps around, and you'll eventually find Anakin's mother, Shmi Skywalker, standing in front of a doorway.

Speak with her and ask her to take you to Anakin. Follow her to Anakin who is working on a pod racer. Speak with Anakin, and he'll eventually begin leading you toward Watto.

Follow Anakin until you see a large black machine moving back and forth on the left side of the screen. Carefully jump across the spires and blocks until you make it to the other side. Keep following Anakin until you set foot on a bridge that collapses under your feet. Take the narrow alley on your left until you see a large steel crate. (You can ignore the Jawas; they aren't important.) Push the crate against the left wall and climb up.

Drop down and follow Anakin into Watto's shop.

Speak with Watto and attempt to buy the T-14 part. You'll learn that you need a particular kind of credit - one that you don't have, naturally. Go outside and speak with Anakin. You learn that you could win some money by betting on Anakin in an upcoming pod race. Behind Anakin is Barbo's store. Go inside; if Barbo isn't present, wait awhile until he arrives and then speak with him. Trade your parts for a new one and then give it to Anakin. All you need now is a mass coupler.

Go back into Barbo's shop and attempt to trade something again. He'll open the door behind him, letting you through. In this yard is a fuel converter, but you might have to deal with some thugs before you get to it. Walk up the ramp and jump onto the block to get out of this area. Head to the merchant on Mos Espa that has a corner stall and speaks of "slashing" prices.

Give him two Fuel converters for the mass coupler and return to Anakin. You now must find Jar Jar before you can continue.

Head back to where Padmé originally lost sight of Jar Jar and go into the building on the left side of the street. Inside you will find Jar Jar. Now head back to Anakin and the pod race will begin!

Level Seven - The Mos Espa Arena

Character: Qui-Gon Jinn

Objective: Though Anakin's pod racer has been repaired, Qui-Gon will still need some money to place a bet with Watto. To find some money, he must deal with the likes of Jabba the Hutt, the slug-like gangster who controls the planet of Tatooine.

Before the race begins, you must see about getting some money to place a bet. From your starting position, head into the courtyard and speak with the blue female alien in the far right corner. Speak with her and use the Force to sway her into taking you to Jabba.

Follow her until she opens a door and then keep going downstairs until you see a red light coming out from a passageway. Go into this passageway, and you will soon find yourself before Jabba the Hutt. Speak with Jabba and agree to fight for the 50 credits. Now you must defeat the beast Jabba releases. This will be a tough fight, but one that is easily won if you keep smacking the beast with your lightsaber and use the Force to push the monster back. Keep moving in a circle around the monster and chip away at him. Before you know it, the beast will be defeated, and the exit for this arena will appear.

Head up the stairs and enter the bar. Talk with Teemto, the short, drunk alien standing beside the bar and ask about where Watto is. Use the Force on Teemto to sway him into locating Watto. Teemto will lead you to another character in the bar. You must buy a drink from the bartender, so do this now. Take the juri juice back to the last character and give it to him.

Now, return to the bar and buy yet another drink, this time taking it to the hammerhead beside the last character you spoke with. Now, speak with the last character again, and he will lead you through some new doors. Go out onto the balcony, and you'll find Watto buzzing around. Speak with Watto and talk about the bet. Talk him into releasing Anakin from slavery if you win the bet. Accept his offer and then backtrack to the far end of the bar, where stairs lead down into the arena stands.

Go all the way to the right of the arena and cross the bridge over the racetrack. Move all the way to the left and then down the stairs to reach the ground level where Anakin is. A thief has stolen the ignition capacitor! Chase the thief around the level until he goes up the stairs and into a domed room. Go to the rear wall and pull the block away from the wall. Step inside and pick up the health and climb up into the next section. Do not enter the next room. Instead, get your blaster out and shoot the creature at the far end of the room. As long as you don't enter the room, the creature won't fire. Destroy the turrets and get the ignition capacitor and return to Anakin. The pod race will begin, leading to the next level.

Level Eight - Encounter in the Desert

Character: Qui-Gon Jinn

Objective: Anakin has been freed from slavery, but the dangers on Tatooine aren't finished. You must escort Anakin, Padmé, and the T-14 hyperdrive to the queen's transport ship. But, along the way, you will encounter Darth Maul, the Sith lord who has been sent after you and your friends.

Talk with Shmi Skywalker about Anakin. After she's finished, follow Anakin straight ahead through the desert. Anakin will charge far ahead; don't worry too much about his safety, he'll be fine. Instead, Darth Maul's probe droids will appear from all sides and spread laser fire all around you.

There are a few ways to deal with the pesky probe droids. Charging them with your lightsaber can be effective, but the probes are usually too fast to strike consistently. Instead, pull out a blaster weapon and take out the probe droids. The blaster alone will usually be enough (use the dodging-roll technique to avoid the probe's lasers), but use your Force push power to stun the probes. Once the probes are stunned, they are much easier to eliminate with the blaster.

After taking out three probe droids, follow Anakin deeper into the canyon, turning left at the land speeder. You'll spot a full health power-up inside the speeder; you should save it for after your upcoming confrontation. Anakin will dash through a tight canyon, but before you can get through, a rockslide will block your path. Darth Maul, standing high on a cliff, caused the slide and is now coming down for you.

Darth Maul is extremely quick; you must pull out your lightsaber and attempt to inflict damage without being struck yourself. After Darth Maul has received about 25 percent damage, he'll flee but getting him to that point can tricky. Use jump techniques and high lightsaber strikes to avoid getting hit and inflicting some damage. After Darth Maul flees, you'll probably want to go get the health pack located in the land speeder.

Next, you must get through the rockslide. Jump on the shortest rock and turn left. Push the rock until you reveal an opening through the slide.
Don't pull the rock; you'll just pull it atop the rock you were standing on, which will leave you no where to stand, and you'll have to reload your game. Move through the secret opening.

On the other side, you'll see Padmé, Anakin, and the T-14 hyperdrive. You'll also see Darth Maul, who is busy taking shots at the hyperdrive. Charge Maul and engage him in a lightsaber duel. You can't win this battle; just hold off the Sith lord long enough for Padmé and the others to board the queen's ship. A full health power-up is located near the ship. If you are hurting badly, make an attempt for it, but make sure Darth Maul doesn't strike at Padmé or the hyperdrive. Once the others are aboard, the ship will launch and Qui-Gon will leap to safety.

Level Nine - Coruscant

Character: Captain Panaka

Objective: The queen arrives at Coruscant to reach Senator Palpatine and alert him about what has happened on the planet of Naboo. Captain Panaka, the queen's loyal guard, must escort her to the taxi ride and safely to the senate. Unfortunately, the queen gets kidnapped, and Panaka must rescue her before the adventure can continue.

You begin the level on the landing platform, high above the city of Coruscant. Before moving too far, pick up the heavy blaster weapon located just ahead of you, below the ship. Turn around and move down the platform until you reach the taxi. Don't run into the taxi just yet, though. A hovering droid will fire at the taxi and at you; the taxi will be destroyed. Quickly turn around and flee past the ship to another platform. A few enemies will emerge from different areas; take them out with your blaster weapons. Before getting on the platform with the droid, get the repeating blaster on a platform at the end of the landing area.

Board the platform and speak with the droid stationed on top. Accept his invitation to take the tour of Coruscant. Take the ride on the platform and reach the door that will take you inside the tour building. Speak with the receptionist droid and ask him how to get to the senate as well as about the tour. Move through the door into a large office area.

Talk with the man sitting at the console. He indicates that the tour is through the door on the left. There's a health pack located in this area, but you're better off waiting to get it a bit later. Keep your weapon holstered when waltzing through these offices; you don't want to annoy any pleasant patrons or any of the droids manning the consoles.

Move through the door and talk to the reception droid. Ask him if the tour stops at the senate chamber, how much the tour ticket is and tell him you have no credits. Unfortunately, you'll have to find a way to get a hold of two tickets. There are several people in the waiting room, but they won't be much help.

Return back past the reception droid and head into the office area you were just in. Turn right at the door that leads out to a large landing platform. After you walk on the platform, another hover droid will begin attacking you. The repeating blaster is the most effective weapon against the pesky hover droid. But, if you are fast enough through this section, you can avoid the annoying flyer completely.

Run to the right side of the platform and talk to the alien who is hoping to sell his two tour tickets for 50 credits each. He mentions that he isn't interested in trading for your binoculars, but perhaps there is someone around who will. Run to the left side of the platform and talk to the man standing there. He will purchase the binoculars from you for 100 credits, just enough to get two tickets from that other alien! Return to him and purchase his two tickets for 100 credits.

Hurry back into the office area; once you enter, three enemies will fire at you and the queen. Take them out with a blaster weapon and grab the health pack that was mentioned previously. Return to the dark reception droid, and he'll accept your two tickets for the tour. Move through the door, entering a storage room. Another flying droid will fire at you; you must eliminate him by using the repeating blaster.

Fall down into the storage room below (the queen will refuse to follow you). Move to a corner of the room, where you'll find an odd-looking crate that doesn't match the texture of the rest. You can pull this crate; move it to the opposite side where there is a gap in the railing.

TIP: After you move the crate, look closely at the wall. You'll see there is a secret panel located here. Push the panel revealing a secret compartment. Get the repeating blaster located inside.

Jump up on the crate and through the gap in the railing and enter the control room. Push the first switch you come to twice (don't bother with the other blue switch). The first time you hit the switch, it will remove a shield that is protecting another movable crate. Hit the switch a second time and it will lower the elevator that is next to the Queen.

Move back down into the storage area. As you move through here, you'll hear some bad guys kidnapping the queen. Don't fret, there's nothing you can do about it. Pull the crate that you released from the shield mechanism and move it onto the lowered elevator. Return to the control room and press the switch once to raise the elevator and crate. Now, return into the storage room and pull the first crate you moved over next to the raised elevator. You must use a series of push and pull maneuvers to get it next to the elevator. Jump up on the crate and finally up onto the elevator.

Pull the crate on the elevator over to the right, next to a switch overlooking the vast city of Coruscant. Trigger the switch, which will activate a floating platform. Quickly jump up on the crate and finally on the floating platform when it arrives. The platform will take you to a new part of the city. Prepare your blaster because you'll need it shortly.

Three enemies will greet you, followed by another hover droid. Dispatch the enemies and the flying droid. There's a crate located in the middle of this area that you can leap onto. When you jump on top, push the other crate located here until it falls down and breaks open. Located inside will be more ammo for your repeating blaster. After the enemies have been eliminated, move to a path that leads out from this platform to a series of windows.

An enemy is located in one of the windows. Eliminate him, then jump onto the ledge that rests just below him. Enter his small area, and you'll get a small health pack. Continue along the ledge, and you'll reach another window. Enter this passageway and continue until you arrive at a glowing switch. Activate the switch, which opens a window to the right of your position. Move outside the window onto another ledge. Jump on the ledge to your left and move inside another window. Follow this passageway forward, then head to the left.

You'll enter a small storage room. Talk to the alien inside. He won't be any help; he'll only ask you to leave as soon as possible. A crate is located in the center of the room that you can jump on. Leap on top and push the crate that is also located on top. After it breaks on the floor, pick up the heavy blaster located inside. Next, find the odd-looking crate inside the room. You can push it, revealing a secret passageway. Move down this hall, picking up the health pack as you go.

TIP: On the left side of this hall is another switch. Activate the button, and another hallway will open up, revealing another heavy blaster.

Exit this area back into the storage room. Move past the alien into a large, colorful commerce area. Don't bother with anything in this room or the aliens walking about. Instead, ascend the stairs up to the lift area. Move to the left side of the wall, where there will be an open lift. Ride the lift into a new area.

As soon as you exit the lift, you'll be greeted by two bad guys who you must dispatch. Exit the elevator. To the left of the elevator (when you're facing it) are two doors. Enter the right side door, and you'll find two health packs, a repeating blaster, and some flash grenades. After exiting this room, you'll find more bad guys roaming this area, about six in all. Use the heavy blaster to eliminate them quickly. Once they're all dead, a lift will become available. Ride the lift down to a new area.

Exit the lift, turn right, and move down the corridor. Take another right, then a left inside a small room. Pass by the huge door and enter a man's office. Talk to him to learn where the kidnappers have taken the queen and how to get there. He'll also tell you about security doors and the password required to get past them ("Coruscant has lovely sunsets."). Exit the office and move through the heavy door that you passed just a few moments ago.

Follow the corridor, trigger the switch, and ride the elevator. Move forward to find a bum and a switch located on the left side of the wall. Press the switch and move forward past the lowered wall. Keep moving, and you'll enter an area with two available paths, one in front of you and one to the left. Move forward and into a room with two switches. Press the right switch first followed by the left switch, which will lower the wall you just past. Move back out and take a right (this is the left path you went past a moment ago) and hurry through and turn right.

You'll enter a hall with a switch and a bum at the end. If you look closely, on the left, you'll see the queen located inside a cage. Press the switch next to the bum and move forward through the lowered wall. You'll arrive at a four-way intersection. Move forward through the intersection into a room filled with a few crates. Jump on top of one of the crates and push the stacked crate onto the ground; the crate will bust open revealing a white passkey. Hit the switch inside this room (it will lower the wall, letting you get back to the four-way intersection). Turn right at the intersection and move to the white switch; as you approach, you'll automatically use the passkey.

The door will open, revealing Queen Amidala and a guard. Kill the guard and pick up the red lift key he drops. Move out of the cell and hit the switch to lower the wall again. Move through the intersection, going straight through until you reach a room with a red colored switch. Approach, and the red lift key will automatically be used. Ride the lift. Follow the corridor until you reach a large room. The queen will notify you that you must find a way to get across.

Face the large gap in the middle of the room. Hit the switch on the right side of the room, then move and hit the switch on the left side of the room. The bridge in the center will turn, letting you cross. However, the door still remains closed. Move across to the other side. When facing the door you must open, hit the left switch, then the right switch. The sides of the room will now move. Return to the very first switch you pressed and hit it again. Now, return to the last switch you hit and press it again. The sides of the room will return, revealing an open door. Move through the door and approach the large closed door that will ask you for the password. Select "Coruscant has lovely sunsets."

In the next room, you'll be attacked by a Coruscant guard. He's quick and can deflect shots, but he's not that difficult to beat. Most importantly, use only the heavy blaster weapon, which seems to get past his deflection abilities nearly every time. Also, if the guard ever stands near one of the cylinders in the room, shoot the cylinders - you'll cause great damage to the guard.

After the guard is dead, move to the lift that lies through the door. You'll arrive at a landing platform that will take you over to Senator Palpatine. Prepare for the next level!

Level Ten - Assault on Naboo

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala

Objective: This level begins the final stages of the game. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn must deal with Darth Maul, who has appeared in the Naboo fighter hanger. Meanwhile, the queen and Captain Panaka must move through the invaded city to reach the rest of their troops to make a final assault on the trade federation viceroy who has taken over the peaceful city.

You begin this level as Obi-Wan Kenobi. All the major players have gathered outside the Naboo fighter hanger and await your command to proceed inside. Move Obi-Wan past your comrades and then inside the hanger door. As soon as you approach the center of the room, Darth Maul will appear, double-saber in hand and ready to fight. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan will take care of Darth Maul, while you take control of the queen.

Pick up the flash grenades sitting next to the queen, then move forward along the city path. Some Trade Federation droids lie ahead; Captain Panaka and his men will take them out. Turn to the left about halfway down this path, and you'll spot two doors. Enter the door straight ahead and speak with the man inside. He'll notice you need assistance and unlock the door just adjacent to his room. Inside, pick up the blaster and the seeker bot. Return outside and speak with Panaka. Tell him to continue forward.

TIP: At the intersection, turn right and jump up to the balcony to retrieve more flash grenades. Also, if you are in need of some health, there is a small health pack on the opposite side of the courtyard.

Turn right at the intersection, and several droids will appear down the steps. Toss a flash grenade at them to take out two or three, then eliminate the rest with your blaster. Be careful here; a destroyer droid will probably approach from the rear. Fire at it as it rolls up; once it gets the shield activated, it'll take some time before it explodes.

Move past the droids you just eliminated, and you'll spot a bridge. Before you cross, turn right and spot the small health pack up on the balcony. Jump on the small ledge located below the balcony and then jump once again to pull yourself up on the balcony. Grab the small health pack and descend the stairs to retrieve a trusty missile launcher. Exit this room and head back to the bridge.

Up ahead, you'll see a droid manning a turret. Eliminate the droid then grab the turret for yourself. Annihilate every robot in sight, including any destroyers who join the fun. Once all are removed, move forward. At the end of this path, to the left, is a door leading to a room with a full health pack and additional missile ammo. Approach Panaka, and you'll switch back to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

TIP: One of your biggest concerns on this level will be keeping Panaka alive. He can only take a certain number of hits, and if you let him get too bruised in the beginning, you could have a tough time beating the end of the level. If he's taking too many shots, tell him to wait back while you move forward and kill droids and other enemies.

It's time to fight Darth Maul. Inside the Naboo fighter hanger are two health packs, one full and one small, as well as several boxes. If Darth Maul gets near the boxes, he will toss them at you. Blaster weapons are ineffective against the Sith lord, so you must use the saber. Get in close and hit Darth as often as you can. Use side roll as well as jumping slashes to get in some good strikes. You need to knock Maul down to half health; once he's there, he'll flee through the hanger door. Follow him.

You're now back playing as the queen. Talk to Panaka and tell him to continue forward through a gate. You'll approach another bridge area. One droid will be waiting on the bridge, and a deadly destroyer droid will roll up the stairs. Take out them both quickly and move forward, killing two more droids on the left. Up ahead, you'll spot an archway guarded by several droids and a heavy turret. Take out your missile launcher and fire two or three rockets into the collection of enemies. You should have little trouble blowing them apart.

Don't go through the arch just yet. Turn right and go up the steep staircase into a dark room. Press the switch on the wall to reveal a full health pack. Grab the health and return down to the archway. If Panaka isn't following you, go speak with him and tell him to move onward.

Move through the arch and kill several more droids. Continue forward until you reach a door that you cannot move through. Captain Panaka will inform you that he's waiting here while you figure out what to do. Turn right here and approach the wounded soldier. Ask him about the security door, and he'll tell you that a generator located in the machinery room must be destroyed to pass the door. To get inside the machinery door, you can ask the friendly droid nearby to help you, or you can take a red keycard back to a red security door that houses a switch that will open the machinery door. If the droid was killed in a previous level, you must take the red keycard.

Retreat back through the arch, and you'll find the red door on your left. Use the keycard at the switch, and the door will open. Trigger the switch inside and return to the wounded soldier. Enter the room just next to the soldier. Inside, you'll find a full health pack and the generator. Use any weapon to destroy the generator.

The large security door will now open. Move inside with Panaka and destroy the three droids waiting inside. A few Naboo soldiers are waiting inside. Panaka informs you that a field generator is blocking the path and must be destroyed. If Panaka has taken severe damage up to this point, you must eliminate the generator yourself. But, if Panaka is healthy, ask him to do it. He'll toss a thermal detonator and easily destroy the generator.

But, to do it yourself, use a combination of flash grenades and missiles. It will take six missiles to take out the generator. After it has been destroyed, move forward and continue to the right. Fight the R2 units blocking the path and any droids who might be lurking about. Move up the stairs.

TIP: Up the stairs, you'll find a door on the left. Enter and speak with the woman who will open a new door inside her abode. Move through the door to pick up a repeating blaster.

Continue up the stairs past the guard. Move inside the room and get the full health pack. Through the far door, you'll spot Captain Panaka on a high balcony. Turn left, move over the grassy walkway and kill the final droid at the bottom of the steps. Move up and onto the balcony to regroup with the Naboo soldiers.

You'll now return to play Obi-Wan Kenobi and fight the duel with Darth Maul. There's a small health pack forward and to the left of your starting position. If you need some health, go grab it quickly. This brief fight is timed. You must only stay alive for a little bit, but don't leave Qui-Gon's side, or he'll die. Fight Darth Maul, and eventually, he'll run across the catwalk. Follow him and Qui-Gon. Your Jedi master will eventually tell you that the next course of action is up to you. Move forward at Darth Maul across the catwalk. It will break, sending Obi-Wan down below. Enter the door on the left to end the level.

Level Eleven - The Final Battle

Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala

Objective: Queen Amidala and Captain Panaka must make their way through many locked security doors to locate the trade federation viceroy. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan must find his Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn and continue the duel with Darth Maul.

Beginning the level as the queen, turn left and go around the corner. Press the right panel in the alcove to reveal a full health pack. Wait here for a moment, and a friendly droid will enter the area and reveal a blaster rifle. Go back right and forward through the corridor until you meet back up with Captain Panaka. Turn left and kill the droids escorting the Naboo guard. Talk to the guard and learn that the palace security doors are all locked, and the keycards have been hidden throughout the palace. He tells you that Cyrus, an imprisoned guard, possesses the white keycard, but he's heavily guarded. There are three doors here, one to the left, one to the right, and one through the middle. Don't go through the center door; it leads to several destroyer droids.

Go through the right door. Kill the droids inside, then move the crate to reveal a small health pack. Move across to the left door and kill the droids inside. You'll notice a green switch located high inside the room. Return to the right door and drag the crate inside the left room. Position the crate underneath the switch. Jump on the crate and trigger the switch; a secret panel will be opened giving you access to the Naboo prisoners. Go inside the hall and enter the cell. Talk with Cyrus and receive the white keycard.

Return to Captain Panaka and move to the huge security door. Touch the white security lock, then activate the switch that opens the door. You'll switch to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Move through the door and onto the walkway. Kill the droid patrolling the circular catwalk. Move to the next circular walkway and again to the next. You'll see Qui-Gon and Darth Maul dueling up above. Continue on and kill the droid. Wait for the floating platform to come up and ride it up to a higher ring catwalk. Look at the next ring over, and you'll see it leads to a doorway. Jump to this ring using the double jump.

Descend the ramp and enter the door. Kill the two droid guards inside. Push the switch to open the door, then move through. There are several droids located inside this area, one to the front, one to the left, and two to the right. Eliminate them all before moving too far inside. Push the switch on the left, which will activate the lights. Move down the catwalk until you reach the final switch on the right. Trigger the switch; the forcefields will be deactivated. Move now to the middle switch. Look across the gap, and you'll see a green switch. Trigger this switch using your Force push ability. Now move around the switch on your side and activate the button. Two bridge-like structures will appear, letting you cross to the other side. Turn right and open the door. Many droid guards will emerge; use your repeating blaster to make quick work of them. Move through this room, and you'll return to play as Queen Amidala.

TIP: Just past the droid guards, inside this room, there's a secret panel on the left side. Press the panel to reveal a full health pack.

Turn and move to the left; Captain Panaka will take out some droid patrols and tell you that a turret lies a few yards ahead. Hug the left side of the wall and find the switch; press this switch to open a door back near the beginning of this area. Move into the room on the left, go up the stairs, and open the door. Kill the droids inside, then turn around and press the switch revealing a missile launcher. Turn back around and jump to the ledge on your left. Move through the first window on your left.

TIP: After entering the window, move to the lower part of the room and turn around. You'll see a secret panel; press the panel to reveal a health pack and a thermal detonator.

Open the door that exits this room. Before venturing out too far, kill the two droid patrols with your blaster. Next, ready your missile launcher. Strafe to the left outside the room and fire a rocket at the cannon. Arm your blaster and move slowly forward. You'll soon see the feet of two droids. Use your blaster to take them out. Ready your missile launcher and move forward just a tad. Fire at the final cannon.

About this time, two destroyer droids will emerge. Run for cover inside a room and let Captain Panaka deal with the deadly robots. Run into the room on the left side of the corridor and pick up the items - a blaster, a repeating blaster, and a health pack - while Panaka deals with the destroyers. Inside this room is a secret panel; press it to reveal another room containing additional items.

Exit this room and continue down the corridor. Another cannon emplacement will be on the left side of the corridor; eliminate it with your missile launcher. Move through the left door and kill the four droids waiting inside. Enter the first room on the left; here is the blue switch, but you must find the blue key. Exit the room and kill any additional droids who have joined the fun. Enter the first room on the right now. Hit the switch in here to reveal a full health pack. Exit and kill the droids. Now, move down the hall and enter the last room on the left. A destroyer waits inside; if you want, exit the room and let Panaka take out the droid.

Move back into the room and pick up the blue keycard. Exit and return to the first room on the left and touch the blue switch. Next, move to the end of the hall and activate the blue door. Pass through to enter a new location.

Let Captain Panaka take out any patrolling droids and destroyers before entering this area. Turn right and walk down until you find a door on your right. Enter the door and pull the crate located inside out onto the catwalk. Next, move down into the lower portion of the room. Pull the crate you'll find down there to the other side of the room - just underneath a gap in the railing. Return up to the top of the catwalk and pull the first crate to the gap in the railing and onto the other box. Next, move down to the lower region of the room and pull the stacked crates next to the pillar that has the red key located on top.

Return to the upper area of the room and jump onto the stacked crates. From here, just leap up and grab the red key. The red switch is located on the upper area of the room next to the door you went through to grab the first crate. Touch the switch. Move to the lower portion of the room and open the red security door. Kill the two droids inside and grab the blasters and small health packs located inside. Move up the stairs to the second red security door. Enter, and you'll return to play as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Move forward and kill the droid with your repeating blaster. Ride the moving platform down and leap to the next ring, forward of your position. This jump is especially tricky. You must do a running jump from the side of the ring and attempt to land at the front of the ring below (you want to land on the ring below the droid you just killed). Move around the ring and follow the catwalk to the end and jump again to the adjacent ring that sits forward of your position. Ride the platform up and kill the droid. Move through the door and enter a new room.

Press the button to raise the elevator. With the elevator up, do a double jump to the ledge on the right side of the room. Turn around and trigger the switch here. Fall to the room below and press the switch to lower the elevator. Press the switch again, and the elevator will start moving back up; jump on the lift before it gets too high. Turn left and pull out the crate that rests to the left of the crate. Pull the crate onto the elevator. Press the switch to lower the elevator and crate to the room below.

Once lowered, pull the crate to the left through the opening into a tight hallway filled with forcefields. Once inside this area, pull the crate to the left, and you'll notice a gap in the railing above. Push the crate to the wall then jump on top of it and head through the gap. Move into a room that overlooks the collection of forcefields. There are eight switches here. You want to press the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh switches from the left all one time. If you do it correctly, you'll open a path in the forcefields to a room to the left. Return down to that area and go inside that room.

Ascend a lift and move through a door, and you'll return to play as the queen. In this new area, some droids and a turret rest to the right of your position. Move forward slowly and take out the droids. Here comes the tricky part. You can decide to try and eliminate all the enemies in this area by using the turret, but you'll probably take significant damage. Instead, just run as fast as you can through the enemies and take a left at the intersection. There will be a door on the right. Use the switch to open the door and destroy any droids waiting within. Jump out the window onto the ledge.

Outside, go right along the ledge and around a curve. You'll come to another battledroid; destroy him, then look for a window on your right. Move through the window and eliminate the droids waiting inside. In one of the corners of the room, you'll find a full health pack - grab it. Now, move to the door to the right of the window; you'll be in the throne room with one of the viceroys sitting at the desk. Approach the viceroy and tell him he won't be getting away with this.

At that moment, he'll summon several droids in. Destroy them, then turn your fire on the viceroy and take him out. After he has been defeated, you'll return to play as Obi-Wan.

Move forward to the circular catwalk and jump to the floating platform to the right. Go down one level and hop on the catwalk, following the path until you reach a dead-end on a new ring. Board the floating platform here and go up one level. Move along this catwalk until you reach a ring just adjacent to another catwalk. Jump to this and turn left. Move through the door.

You'll enter a hallway that has red laser walls impeding your progress. Time your advances carefully, moving through the red walls when they turn off. As you near the clearing, Darth Maul will strike down Qui-Gon. Once the laser walls open, move through and attack Darth Maul at close range. After a few strikes, he'll leap up top. Follow him. You must stay close to him because if you stay back too far, he'll damage you with a lightning attack. Keep striking Darth Maul at close range, following him around the room until he sits on the catwalk about the chasm. Eventually, you'll strike him down.

TIP: In the two corners of the room, connected by the catwalk above the chasm, you'll notice two secret panels. Press the panels during the fight to receive a full health pack out of each. You'll likely need them to defeat the Sith lord.
